Mobile & Affordable EKG Screenings
We're aiming to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in children and students
What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
The National Institute of Health defines Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) as a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. SCA usually causes death if it's not treated within minutes and is the leading cause of death on school campuses and the #1 killer of student athletes in the United States.
SCA is often caused by an undiagnosed heart condition you're born with or that develops as a child's heart grows. The first symptom of a hidden heart issue is often sudden death.
Our Mission
Early and routine heart screenings (EKG) are crucial for identifying the heart conditions that potentially lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. But sadly, these are not part of a child's routine checkup or sports physical.
We want to bridge the gap by providing mobile and affordable EKG screenings to diagnose heart conditions early and prevent sudden cardiac deaths in children and students.

Meet Courtney
Hi, I’m Courtney a Registered Nurse, wife and mother of three. My goal with Sustain The Beat is to provide mobile EKG screenings to help prevent children from dying of an undiagnosed heart condition and bring awareness of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in children. I want parents to feel secure about their child’s cardiac health.
I have been working in healthcare since 2000 with in hospital settings as a cardiac monitor technician, phlebotomist, nursing assistant and a unit secretary before becoming a Registered Nurse in 2009. I have worked in long-term care and hospice care and most recently, I have focused on children’s cardiac health and the importance on having children screened.
